Hemming & Willström is a Finnish design duo that was formed in 2008. All started when designer students Greta Muuri and Isla Myllys wondered how to combine work and fun.

"At one party evening we listened old C-cassettes and got jiggy with the tunes. The feeling was great. All evening we laughed and listened to the great hits of all times.”

”Few weeks later we were working and searching new fun materials for weaving. The C-cassette tape came to our mind and it was an obvious choice. C-cassette tape as a material had such an extensive impact that we almost fell in love with weaving.“

“Although the fabric woven from cassette tapes is perfect for our style, we want to express our versatility as designers by using different materials. Therefore we came to the conclusion to design products under certain themes. Themes give us possibility to concentrate to different materials and subjects for a short period of time. The first theme that inspires our products is of course C-cassettes.”
